Set within 32 acres of glorious Kent countryside on the edge of Tunbridge Wells, just 50 minutes by train from central London, Holmewood House is a leading co educational, non-selective day and boarding Prep School for children aged 3–13. Boarding has been at the heart of Holmewood House for more than 80 years. Our boarders, aged 7–13, experience a vibrant, friendly home-from-home in a newly refurbished boarding house, while seamlessly integrated with our day pupils.

For Forces families, we understand that stability and belonging are everything. Houseparents live alongside pupils, providing genuine parental care so that every boarder is understood, supported and able to flourish. Our close-knit boarding house is warm, structured, and consistent, giving children a secure base when life at home may be unpredictable.

The Head of Boarding, Mr Wukics, works specifically with military families to ensure the transition into boarding is smooth and well-supported, from first enquiry right through to settled school life. We welcome families at any stage of the process and are experienced in working around the demands of Service postings, including those based overseas. Families eligible for CEA will only pay 10% of our boarding fees. Academically, Holmewood prepares pupils for the UK’s leading independent senior schools, with strong outcomes at 13+. Beyond the classroom, pupils enjoy a rich and varied programme of sport, music, drama and over 120 co-curricular clubs.
