Aldro School

Aldro is a coeducational day and boarding school (full time, weekly, part-time boarding options) of approximately 200 children aged between 7 and 13. We are fortunate to be 40 minutes’ drive from both Heathrow and Gatwick airports, 35 minutes on the train to London and within easy reach by car of Aldershot (20 minutes). Set in a 30-acre site, Aldro embodies the magic of childhood, giving children oodles of green space, (including our lake and island playground!) to create thrilling adventures, whilst giving children the best preparation for senior school, in a thriving community, with a brilliant boarding provision.

Boarding at Aldro is more than a bed for the night. Here, children discover what it feels like to belong to a family. Our Boarding Team are always on hand to notice the little things; a child who needs a chat before lights out, whipping up a favourite banana milkshake, or thoughtfully providing a lavender scented pillow, nothing is too much trouble. Parents tell us it feels like handing their child to an extended family, one that cares deeply and communicates often. Behind the scenes, there’s a quiet choreography: matrons labelling kits, tutors checking homework, gap students organising games. It’s homely, yet purposeful; a place where children feel known.

There is a steady stream of cultural trips too, such as Buckingham Palace, Hever Castle, and Twickenham for the roar of England rugby. It’s non-stop fun, but never too busy for those all-important calls home.

Aldro has an excellent boarding program and so kids from London or even other countries can make Aldro their home away from home.
